Utility Billing

The City of Kent’s Utility Billing is done through the Budget & Finance Department.

The Utility Billing Department is CLOSED to the public until further notice.

Preferred payments can be made via mail, drop box or online. Additional phone payment options are available. If you need assistance call us at 330-678-8104 or visit Budget & Finance online. Thank you for your cooperation.


Set Up Water Service

If you are a new resident, you must contact our department to set up water service in Kent. If you have any questions or have received an estimated water bill, you need to contact the Utility Billing office. Our phone number is 330-678-8104 and we are open weekdays, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., except legal holidays.

Direct Debit

If you would like to pay your water bill through Automatic Draft, an authorization form is found in every issue of the Tree City Bulletin and also listed below in PDF format.

NEW! Electronic Invoice 

We are now offering the option for paperless invoicing. You MUST register before logging in. Have your utility billing account number (found on your paper invoice) on hand during registration with SmartPayWorks. Once your account is set up and you are logged in, you may access your profile by clicking on the arrow near your name, then select Account Preferences to make the change to electronic invoices. You may create your online account here for this service.

Online Bill Payment

The City of Kent is pleased to announce that online payment of your Utility Bill is now available! You can make payments with credit card or e-check without having to pay a convenience fee. An email receipt option will be presented at the end of your transaction.

You will need your Utility account number when first registering your online payment profile. Visit the online payment portal.
