The proposed waterline will replace the old 4 and 6-inch pipe along Hudson
Road between Fairchild Avenue and Whetstone Drive. The upgrade will improve fire
flow that is currently available from the existing undersized line. The new
waterline will also be connected at Fairchild Avenue thereby providing an
additional connection point and eliminating a dead end on the section south of
Cuyahoga Street. Approximately 2,315 feet of water main replacement is proposed.
Sections of the existing waterline
range in age from 45 to 87 years old. The City of Kent Service Department has
recorded six waterline breaks along the existing Hudson Road water main between
Whetstone Drive and Fairchild Avenue during the past several years.
