Horning Road Access Path

This project involves the installation of a 6 foot wide path, comprised of both asphalt and concrete, to address the heavy pedestrian volume in the area. A crosswalk will be added at Holly Drive to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians.

The path will be located on the south side of Horning Road from the intersection of Loop Road east to the City of Kent corporation line, approximately 1000 lineal feet.

Rhodes Road Multi-Use Path

This project involves the installation of a 14 foot wide multi-use path, comprised of both asphalt and concrete, increasing safety in the area for the heavy pedestrian volume while also improving accessibility with the connection of the existing Franklin Township path to the adjacent Kent State University property.

The path will be located on the south side of Rhodes Road from the intersection of Loop Road east to the City of Kent corporation line, approximately 1725 lineal feet.

Both projects involve tree removal, grade work and minor utility work in addition to the path installation. As of now, the construction of both paths is scheduled to be performed by the City of Kent’s Central Maintenance Department starting in late spring.
