This project will
complete the reconstruction of both Erie Street and Depeyster Street within the
downtown redevelopment area. PARTA will be building a new transit facility at
the N.E. corner of Depeyster Street and Erie Street. That project will include
the reconstruction of Erie Street and Depeyster Street along the frontage of the
development.

The
completion of Erie Street and Depeyster Street will support vehicular and
pedestrian access and utility services for redevelopment. The current pavement
condition is very poor and requires pavement replacement to serve the vehicular
traffic as intended. The pavement condition also creates a safety hazard due to
its poor condition. The addition of overhead lighting will increase vehicular
and pedestrian visibility and safety.
Looking West on Erie Street from SR 59
Erie Street and Depeyster Street
will be reconstructed to create a pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular friendly
facility. The project includes burying overhead utilities, sharrows, new
streetscape including lighting and street trees, pavement replacement and
on-street parking at the curb lanes.
