There are 8 structures being razed in the first phase of the Kent Downtown Redevelopment project.

 

225 S. Water Street -Kent Hardware

233-241 S. Water Street - Jason's Barber Shop, Rental apartment and a former Cigar Shop

255 -257 S. Water Street- The Rock Cafe/ Our Father

126-128 E. Erie Street - Residential Multi Family House

206 E. Erie Street - Record Courier - owned by KSU

200 S. DePeyster Street - The Bar'n

218 Erie Street - Residential house (added December 2010)

 

 

 

The City of Kent and Kent State University are partnering on this project to benefit from economy of scale and expedite the removal of the vacant structures.  KSU will reimburse the City for their share of the cost of removing 206 and 218 E.  Erie Street.
