The Kent City Council is the legislative body of the city.
The Council is charged with setting policies that will serve the
health, well being, and safety of the residents of Kent. The City
Manager and his staff are charged with administering those policies.
The Kent City Council is composed of six Wards, with representatives from
each Ward. There are also three representatives that serve "at large", and
represent the entire City. To find your ward, please click

The City Council meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:30
p.m. except for June, July and August. During those three months, Council
meetings are held on the third Wednesday only. Meetings are held at 325 S.
Depeyster Street in Council Chambers. The Kent City Council committees
meeting on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., except for
June, July and August. During those three months Committee meetings are
held on the first Wednesday only.
Council may call Special Council meetings as needed. All meetings of
Kent City Council are governed under the Ohio Revised Code, common known as the
"Sunshine Law". Meetings are announced and all meetings are open to the
public.
