Emergency 911
The Kent City Police Department, under the leadership of
Chief James
Peach, provides the necessary services to protect the citizens of Kent.
This includes patrols, investigations, enforcement, and parking issues.
The Records and Communications Division is responsible for
dispatching, maintenance of records, and the coordination and relay of
most information in the department. Dispatching requires the
tracking of the functional assignment of four to ten police mobile units
in the City. They also process emergency fire and medical calls
for Kent and Franklin Township.
The Juvenile Division is an investigative unit for the investigating
and processing follow up of cases in which a juvenile is involved as a
victim or offender. They also serve as a counseling unit, and
counseling is provided to juveniles with personal or family problems.
This division also provides for community relations as they relate to
children. This includes talks with local P.T.A. groups, tours of
the facility, and the City's "Officer Bill" program.
Animal complaints, disturbances, and protection are handled by the
Compliance Officer in the Support Services Division. Activities
include loose and stray animal concerns, humane treatment of animals,
finding homes for abandoned animals, and follow-up efforts on barking,
noise, and dangerous animal issues.
The Support Services Division also handles parking compliance and
vehicle issues. Activities include the regulation of parking in
areas with established restrictions, as well as general patrol around
the City for parking and vehicle violations. Junk vehicle notices
and removals are also handled by this division.
